This is an awesome flower with a rather unfortunate name.

I've been too busy these past few days to take photos. Today is a lovely day, though, and I have some unexpected time off.

It's really kind of unique in the world. When you have a moment, take a look at the strange symbiosis/parasitism it exploits.

Is that what that is? Cool! I found that growing in the woods behind my house and thought it was a mushroom of some kind. Now I have to go look at it again!

Very strange indeed. I was lucky to get the shot. It was in a hollow on the trail at Sharbot Lake. It was swarming with mosquitoes, and if you stopped for more than a few seconds, they'd remove a pint. So it was a quick dip, focus, and shoot. Then RUN!
