Inchoate Thoughts Do Not a Post Make

  • I cannot hear a song by Adele without my mind throwing up an image of Dusty Springfield singing the song on a blurry B/W TV Set.
  • I have already given up on Nanowrimo. I'm just trying to finish a short ornithomancy story featuring lunchbox boys.
  • Petraeus? Boinking your biographer sums up a particular kind of ego to begin with, but who the hell didn't get thrown in the oubliette for letting him keep a gmail account in the first place? George would be Smiling if he wasn't a fictional character.
  • "The League of Gentlemen" is not as funny as I remember it, but it's still pretty good.
  • Submitted my first patch to Drupal.org. So begins the transition from disdainful student to frustrated contributor.
  • Cara Sposa's mind is clearer and more focused than it has been in years. And she's happier. Whatever it was doing, it was really messing with her chemistry, and she's healing well. I hope it's a sign that a corner that got us stuck in a rut in 1993 has FINALLY been turned.
  • I treated myself with a first edition hard cover of The Shadow of the Torturer, signed by both author and editor. Reasonably priced, too. The ornithomancy story is reminding me of exactly why I loved that book so much. It was over Clute's review of this book that I had my girly-sqee moment at WFC. Wolfe creates a story like a master origami artist, assembling it completely before showing taking you through it. Clute showed me what was folded up inside, and it blew my mind. Brilliant men, both of them.
  • I'm enjoying writing again. I hope this means I've turned a corner as well.
  • I better get to work. Got a lot to finish before tonight, where we'll be taking Cara Sposa's mother and a friend out to see Skyfall.

Thanks. And hope it doesn't also mean going around the bend ;)

Mostly good stuff except for a bit of blasphemy about "League of Gentlemen". Glad la Sposa si sente meglio!

Glad to hear that. And that your Cara Sposa has (hopefully) turned one, too.

I'm still plugging away at NaNoWriMo, but struggling with this one. Haven't quite found the heart of this story yet. But at least I'm seeing glimmers of it now.

Is this part 3 of Winterbourne?
